# Asset and dependency credits

時速10万光年 (Fly the Milky Way) is a non-commercial science-education showcase by 3PT STUDIO (3rd Party Trust Inc.). This file lists every
third-party asset, dataset and library that is bundled or loaded at runtime. The licence of the repository's own code is not yet
decided (private repository); where a row says "repository code" it makes no claim about that.

Physical parameters (as opposed to files) carry their own source keys in `config/galaxy.json`, `config/landmarks.json`,
`config/solar.json` and `config/tokyo.json`; the Milky Way panorama's own note is `public/reference/CREDITS.md`.

| Component | Source / author | Licence | Modifications | Where used |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3PT STUDIO lockup (`public/brand/3pt-studio-logo-horizontal-white-transparent.svg`, inlined in `index.html`) | 3PT STUDIO brand kit, approved design "A / Cut Three"; wordmark outlined from the system monospace face | Brand asset (trademark and identity of 3PT STUDIO). **Not** covered by any repository licence; not for reuse outside the studio's own releases | Geometry unmodified; the inlined copy splits the mark's three cuts and the nine glyphs into separate paths so the launch card can animate them (`tests/ui-studio-splash.test.ts` checks it against the file) | Launch card (`src/ui/intro/studioSplash.ts`), title/menu footer and About page (`src/ui/credits/`) |
| Title logotype 時速10万光年 (`src/ui/title/logo.svg`; source `pipeline/logo/title-logo-source.webp`) | 3PT STUDIO: design chosen by the studio from AI image generation (2026-10-06) | Studio artwork, same terms as the studio's own releases | Outlines traced from the source image by `pipeline/trace_logo.py` (noise removed, shapes unchanged) | Title screen, share image (`public/share-space.jpg`) |
| Stars, G < 11.5 (`public/data/stars/`): positions, magnitudes, colours (proper motions are used only in the pipeline, to bring Hipparcos stars to J2016.0; the shipped stars do not move) | [Gaia DR3](https://www.cosmos.esa.int/gaia), ESA/Gaia/DPAC. "This work has made use of data from the European Space Agency (ESA) mission Gaia (https://www.cosmos.esa.int/gaia), processed by the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC, https://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/gaia/dpac/consortium). Funding for the DPAC has been provided by national institutions, in particular the institutions participating in the Gaia Multilateral Agreement." | [CC BY-NC 3.0 IGO](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/igo/): non-commercial only; commercial use needs ESA's permission. Not endorsed by ESA; no ESA logos are used | Cross-matched, quantised and packed into an octree (`pipeline/`) | Catalogue star renderer, all modes |
| Bright stars and the star names/positions behind the constellation figures | Hipparcos, new reduction (ESA; van Leeuwen 2007) | Used with citation | Selected and packed (`pipeline/`) | Star renderer, constellation figures, sky |

Credit: ISAS/JAXA | Modified: read from the browse JPEG figure, photometrically normalised (limb / terminator law fitted per frame), shifted into a cloud-rotating frame, composited, the unobserved quarter filled with the zonal mean, reduced to a relative-brightness grey map (`pipeline/venus_uv_map.py`). The source files (about 0.2 MB) stay in the git-ignored `pipeline/cache/`; only the derived map is shipped. Flagged as modelled in the UI | Solar system layer, Venus in the enhanced view only |
| Saturn ring optical-depth and colour profiles | Cassini Radio Science Subsystem occultation, Rev 007 egress, 1 km resolution (PDS Rings Node, data set CO-SR-RSS-4/5-OCC-V2.0); natural-colour radial profile from the Cassini ISS mosaic PIA11142 'A Full Sweep of Saturn's Rings' (NASA/JPL/Space Science Institute); ring edge radii from the NASA NSSDCA Saturnian Rings Fact Sheet | Public PDS / NASA data; NASA media public domain | Optical depth reduced to 8.8 km bins by averaging transmission; colour sampled along the mosaic's mid-line, registered to the occultation radii | Saturn's rings |
| 3D city model of Tokyo (`public/data/tokyo/`, around the Imperial Palace outer gardens, 2 km radius) | Project PLATEAU, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (Tokyo 23 wards, 2020) | [Public Data License 1.0](https://www.mlit.go.jp/plateau/site-policy/) (compatible with CC BY 4.0); credit required | Processed for this work: simplified to building volumes, terrain flattened | **Not currently displayed**: the buildings are switched off in `config/tokyo.json` (`buildings`); the view over Tokyo shows the GSI aerial photos only |
| Constellation figures (`public/data/constellations.json`) | Stellarium sky culture "western" (Stellarium's team); Japanese names from the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan | [CC BY-SA](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/) | Lines attached to Hipparcos star positions; reduced to the fields the work uses | Constellation overlay |
| Music (`public/audio/music/*.mp3`: title, cruise and moment tracks). **生成前・未同梱 (not yet generated or shipped): this row applies only once `npm run music:build` has produced `public/audio/music/`; until then the work has no music and the UI shows no music credit** | AI-generated by Google Lyria 3.5 and Lyria 3 Clip through the [Gemini API](https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/docs/music-generation), from 3PT STUDIO's prompts (`pipeline/music/prompts.json`); model, date and take of each track in `public/audio/music/manifest.json` and `pipeline/music/provenance.json` | Generated output used under the [Gemini API Additional Terms of Service](https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms); carries Google's SynthID watermark | Take chosen and loudness-normalised, re-encoded to MP3 (`pipeline/build_music.py`) | Title screen, free flight (`src/audio/music.ts`) |

| Orbits of Saturn's major moons | JPL Solar System Dynamics Planetary Satellite Mean Elements (SAT441, R. A. Jacobson 2022) anchored to JPL Horizons state vectors of 2026-10-06 (NASA/JPL-Caltech) | Public NASA/JPL data | Re-epoched and anchored by `pipeline/saturn_moons.py` | Solar-system ephemeris |
| Artificial satellite orbital elements (`public/data/satellites/active.json`, a snapshot served as a static file; the former live copy at `/api/satellites/active` is retired) | [CelesTrak](https://celestrak.org/), T. S. Kelso: General Perturbations (GP) elements of the `active` group as OMM JSON, 16,819 objects on 2026-10-30. The orbital data come from the US Space Force tracking network via [Space-Track](https://www.space-track.org/) | Free public data; no licence text accompanies the files, so CelesTrak and Space-Track are credited as the source. CelesTrak's request not to download the same data more than about once per 2 hours is followed (`pipeline/satellites.py` caches its download for 2 hours; public requests never reach CelesTrak). CelesTrak sends no CORS headers, so browsers never contact it directly | Snapshot: reduced to the 12 OMM fields SGP4 needs (`pipeline/satellites.py`). Positions are computed on the player's device and drawn as marker dots, not to scale | 人工衛星 overlay near the Earth (`src/core/satellites/`) |
| satellite.js 7.1.0 | Shashwat Kandadai and contributors, [satellite.js](https://github.com/shashwatak/satellite-js): SGP4/SDP4 propagator after Vallado, Crawford, Hujsak & Kelso (2006), 'Revisiting Spacetrack Report #3', AIAA 2006-6753 | [MIT](https://github.com/shashwatak/satellite-js/blob/master/LICENSE.md) | Unmodified npm dependency | Satellite positions (`src/core/satellites/sgp4.worker.ts`, in a Web Worker) |
| astronomy-engine 2.1.19 | Don Cross, [astronomy-engine](https://github.com/cosinekitty/astronomy) | [MIT](https://github.com/cosinekitty/astronomy/blob/master/LICENSE) | Unmodified npm dependency | Solar-system ephemeris |
| three.js 0.186.1 | [three.js authors](https://github.com/mrdoob/three.js/) | [MIT](https://github.com/mrdoob/three.js/blob/dev/LICENSE) | Unmodified npm dependency | WebGPU/WebGL2 rendering |
| Vite, TypeScript, Vitest, Cloudflare Vite plugin, Wrangler | Their respective authors | MIT / Apache-2.0 | Unmodified | Build, test and deployment tooling only; not shipped to players |

All other code, shaders, generated textures, synthesised sound effects (`src/audio/`, no recorded samples) and text were written for this project. No fonts are bundled or loaded from an external
server: the UI uses the system's Japanese sans-serif.

## Notes

- Departure-card illustrations (`public/images/departure/black-hole-v2.jpg`, `milky-way-v1.jpg`): generated with OpenAI's built-in imagegen tool for this project (black hole: 2026-10-26; Milky Way: 2026-10-13). The black-hole revision shows lensed starlight without an accretion disk. Conceptual destination artwork, not observation photographs or screenshots. Prompts and processing are recorded in `docs/prompts/departure-artwork.md`.
- Observed data (Gaia, Hipparcos, dust, planet maps) and modelled content (unresolved starlight, extrapolated arms, nebula
volumes, gas-giant textures marked "modelled") are kept apart; the work flags modelled content in its UI.
- Gaia DR3 is released under CC BY-NC 3.0 IGO, which is why this work is non-commercial: no ads, purchases, donations or revenue.
